Many people become hooked when they see how simple and dynamic this approach can be, when it is done well. However, there is one big trap that can occur from watching the masters doing it well. This lesson was highlighted at an event I recently hosted, that is what this video is about.
I love that you’re asking people to “be yourself”!
When I teach, I use the metaphor that when artists learn to paint, they paint like the masters,, THEN they find ways to integrate style, feeling and technique. So, it’s really ok to start with imitating, struggle a bit, then use what you’re learning as a stepping stone to BECOMING the approach.
Thanks for what you are doing to educate us all in the nuances of SFBT!
I like your metaphor and I am glad you liked my video, thanks for checking it out!
Thank You and God Bless. I do Solution Focused Pastoral Counseling. Being myself is what works for me.
Thank you Linda and thanks for the work you do.
