Since 2020, Katia Rheault has been offering counselling services at community mental-health agencies located in the Cowichan Valley of Vancouver Island. These agencies provide affordable-to-no-cost short-term support (usually 8 weekly sessions) to underserved clients facing barriers to access mental-health services; and they tend to have long waitlists. The SFBT approach lends itself beautifully to a short-term model, and creates positive outcomes consistently for a wide variety of needs. Katia has a degree in psychology, a master’s in education, a diploma in professional counselling, and an SFU Diamond Level-3 Certification. She is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor in good standing with ACCT (Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada). In addition to her volunteer work, Katia sees private clients online and in person, at her practice in Duncan, British Columbia. She offers services in English, French and Spanish.
