I am a Dutch mother of two and grandmother of my dear Dutch/English granddaughter. My second love is definitely the solution focused approach. After a career as a physiotherapist and in management I came across the Signs of Safety concept, a solution focused revolutionary approach to child protection. I was blown away and started applying the underlying ideas immediately, together with my team. We shortened waiting times, customer satisfaction went up, professionals were engaged and happy with it. Not long after that I decided to start my own business as a consultant because I wanted to study this approach and saw so many areas in the field of health and welfare where this could make a big difference. Long story short: I met Elliott, invited him to The Netherlands twice now and on his first visit he witnessed our team having our weekly Intervision. Elliott was blown away and quickly asked if I would do this within the SFU. Of course I would! So every second Monday of the month we meet with anyone who wants to be there and we have an amazing time discussing our ‘How can I …’ questions. And because the whole process is completely Solution Focused, it serves as a practice and learning experience too. I will never tire of this approach.
