Today’s a really hard day. I just found out that my assistant of the last six years, Glynndel, has passed away.
If you’ve ever sent me an email, you’ve probably interacted with Del. If you’ve signed up for one of my programs, attended an event, or had to coordinate anything with me, you have probably interacted with Del.
Last week Del had a major health issue and has been in surgery and intensive care for the last week. And this morning I found out that Del passed away.
I normally want to come and talk to you about Solution Focused Brief Therapy and how to be a better Solution Focused Brief Therapist. And in honor of Del, I’m going to give you one lesson here, and that is to understand that the reason why we ask noticing questions is because…
No one can succeed or achieve their outcomes alone.
Everyone has someone special around them.
And one of those people around me for the last six years was Del. I could not have become who I’ve become, or be the person that I am, without Del being in my life. So attend to the people close to you, a little bit closer, because you never know when they will be gone.
Del was the breadwinner of her family. She was 30, in her early 30s, 30 years old, a mother of four and she lived in the Philippines. And her family will have to fend for themselves. Her family created a crowdfunding website, and I’m going to share that link in the description of this video, and please, if you could see it within your heart to donate even a dollar to this family. They’re going to be in some financial difficulties as they try to figure out how to move forward.
And that’s not to say anything about the emotional difficulties as these four young children have to figure out how to live in a world without their mom. And the husband will have to figure out how to live in a world without his co-parent and his partner.
This is devastating for us as an organization, devastating for me personally. I interacted very closely with Del every single day for the last six years. And this is going to impact me, but it impacts them in a very, very direct way.
So please support this family, and spend a lot of time noticing the people around you that make you the best version of yourself.
Thanks for watching.
