You know, a lot of times when people, you know, share themselves to the degree that I do in the level that I do. And you have blog videos and books and stuff like that, you are always like making yourself look great. Like, oh look at my new car, look at my shiny new car or house or jewelry or whatever. And it, you know, when I look online and, and some of the people that you follow with, like, it gives you this, this view that like life is always perfect. And for everyone except you, life is not perfect.

And you know, when I decided to share this much of my life, when I decided to make videos and, and teach Solution Focused Brief Therapy in this way, I truly decided I’m going to do it in an authentic way. I’m just going to be myself. We’re going to show myself I’m going to, I’m going to be who I am. And part of that means making videos that are sometimes hard for me to make, like this one, for example.

Stop feeling stuck in your sessions and start leading your clients to their desired outcome with confidence!

It’s hard for me to make because I’m actually having a really, really difficult day. I’m actually like really, really struggling. And there’s no real reason why, like, I can’t say like I’m struggling because of this issue or that issue. I mean, I think it’s just a day like it’s grey and rainy, and grey and raining for three days.

And I miss, I miss people so much that there are certain people in my life. Like I just miss them so much. And I feel so bogged down because of this pandemic and some of the things that I normally have access too, to help me cope with life. It’s just difficult. I had a dream last night actually about getting on an airplane.

Something that in years prior I did three or four times a month and I flew around the world and I saw my best friend in England, a guy named Chris. And I saw a really close friend to me, like a sister to me in South Africa, a woman named Jacqui or flew to see my business partner, Anna, or whatever. And I’m just down today.

I don’t know. I’m just down today. And it makes me, makes me think of wonder, like, what are you guys do when you get down? Like, how do you overcome the struggles and things like when you get down and when you are having a difficult day. So one of the things that I do, and one of the things that I did today, and I can like, feel myself lifted up and, and already kind of feeling better. But one of the things that I do is I reach out to people that I love and care about.

I’m honest and transparent with how I’m feeling when people say, how are you? I’m like, you know, I’m struggling today. Not doing super well. I don’t say like, Oh, I’m fine. When I’m actually not, like I tell the truth, like I’m struggling. I’m actually not doing super well. When, so I do those things and I do hobbies that give me joy. You can’t see them, but like on the ground, on either side of me are my two compound bows.

And later today I’ll go somewhere to, to shoot my compound bows, which is probably the hobby that I have at this moment that’s making me feel the best. That’s probably the hobby that I’m entertained with and entertained by the most at this moment. But the other thing I do is I give myself permission to be human. Like it’s okay to be human and it’s okay to struggle and it’s okay to have a hard time.

And it’s okay to be in that space. Like it’s okay. Like, being human is okay. And in a weird way, these down moments in these down days are wonderful because we know they don’t last and they give us the opportunity to truly savour and enjoy the good days and the good moments. But I want you guys all out there to know,

like, it’s okay to be human. It’s okay to struggle. It’s okay to have hard times, but just don’t sit in that space. Do the things that inspire you, that motivates you, that wake you up, that really ignite your soul and spirit and be the person that you truly want to be and understand that sometimes is going to be days when you are just going to struggle.

And that’s just part of the human experience. So today it’s just my human day, just a day where I’m struggling as a human. And I hope me sharing that will inspire at least one of you to understand it’s okay to have bad days and to do certain things to kind of lift yourself up instead of wallowing in it. So like I said, I’m going to go, I got some work to do, and then I’m going to shoot my bows and tomorrow will be a new day.
